Susan Marie “Sue” Verville

Laurium: Susan Marie “Sue” Verville, 72, of Laurium, passed away at her home with her family at her side on Saturday, January 31, 2026 following a brief illness.

Sue was born on December 31, 1953 in Garden City, Michigan, the daughter of the late Douglas and Ruth (Matero) Verville, later graduating from Garden City West High School in 1972. Sue was married and later divorced from the father of her children, Frank Briscoe. She was a homemaker while raising her family, and when she came to live in the Copper Country she worked for the Salvation Army in Hancock.

She enjoyed music, going to church, shopping, crafts, and spending time with her children and grandchildren and her best friend, Jeanne.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and Ruth, and by two brothers, Brian and Greg. She is survived by her children: Tanya (Mike) Carter, Michelle (Bo) Boan, Katie Briscoe, and Ryne (Angel) Briscoe; her grandchildren Cassandra, Andrea, Bryant, Gavin, Noah, Logan, Skylar, Colton, and Emmanuel; eleven Great Grandchildren; and two brothers, Dennis (Cheryl) Verville and Steven (Tammy) Verville.

A Celebration of Life for Susan will be held at a later date.
